Impact of Hildegard of Bingen and Isaac the Blind

     Isaac the Blind and Hildegard of Bingen both had an influence on the societies they took part in. Despite the apparent difficulties each person endured they grew to become influential help their respective homes.

    All Kabbalah is dated to pass through Isaac the blind, and other branches formed later which increased the practitioners. It resulted in new views of the bible, specifically genesis to be witness. They also brought views about the creation of the universe and the ideas included the perception and justification for multiple creation stories practiced in Jewish faith. Unfortunately he evaluated a evaluated a dichotomy between men and women that would be very poor taste in the modern world. (Pinchas Giller. (2011))

    On the other hand Hildegard knew popes and kings. She was a composer, artists, and wrote powerful letters and hoped to fundamentally reshape the church. However this was made difficult by society's perspective of her gender. Even with all of this her most powerful contribution was the precedent she set in the church which would allow for other women rise against the prejudice the church had developed. (Baird 1998)

    Isaac the Blind and Hildegard from Bingen were not the same. They had different pursuits and different methods, but both changed the lives of many through the mysticism they followed.
