Edgar's and George's Impact

 Edgar Cayce’s impact on the world is still unfolding and yet to be seen. During Edgar's life, he is a man who has given over 14,000 readings. To be exact, he gave 14,306 since his first reading in 1901. All of Edgar’s readings are currently being stored at the Edgar Cayce A.R.E., which happens to be an organization that Edgar developed in 1931 that is still running to this day in Virgin Beach. According to The A.R.E.’s website, his readings covered many different topics: "In fact, in their entirety, the readings discuss an astonishing 10,000 different topics.” (2023). The top 5 topics that are covered the most in all of his 14000 readings, those 5 topics are health-related information, philosophy and reincarnation, dreams and dream interpretation, ESP and Psychic Phenomena, Spiritual Growth, meditations, and prayers. Some of the most impactful readings were medical and the ones that seemed incorrect at the time but were true. An example of a medical reading is talked about in the Edgar Cayce documentary called, “Edgar Cayce” released in 2008, “In 1905, Cayce to surgeons how to fix the badly broken leg of a local man, George Dalton, by inserting a nail into the break.” This Reading resulted in George Dalton being able to walk again, even after the doctors had said otherwise. The readings that seemed false but were true are the readings that make Edgar Cayce not just known as a mystic but as a prophet as well. Some examples of these readings presented in the Edgar Cayce documentary predicted the assassination of Franklin D Roosevelt and John F Kennedy and the crashing of the Stoke market, which resulted in the Great Depression (2008).

 George Ivanovich Gurdjieff traveled the world to find his purpose. He found his purpose; it was to help others reach their full self. During his travels, he created “The Work/ The Forth Way.” The Forth Way teaches you how to become self-aware and to know yourself fully. The basis of the work is summarized by The Gurdjieff Legacy Foundation “Fourth Way School” “It offers the perspective and practices that recapture the true meaning and purpose of human life, and ends the ever-increasing soulless waste of energy, time and attention including the unconscious misuse of technology in all its forms.” Once he created this belief, he continued to travel, but this time, it was to introduce this belief to the world. As a result of Gurdjieff's teachings of The Fourth Way, more came to believe the same and continued to teach his teachings. These teachings inspired the creation of two organizations, The Gurdjieff Legacy Foundation and The Gurdjieff Foundation. The Gurdjieff Foundation has different sectors in many countries, including the United States, Mexico, Africa, Australia, Europe, Canada, South America, and Asia.

  The work of Both Edgar Cayce and George Gurdjieff has reached many people within the last 123 years. Both have influenced thousands of people. Edgar's legacy was based on his ability, and George's was based on his belief.
